General Parent Info:
- Please remember the coaching staff is all volunteer and varying styles and experience is unique to each season. Having one voice on the field is preferrable. That said, each year coaches are needed please fill out a volunteer app and help out.
- Positive comments towards players are welcomed. Negativity adds pressure to athletic performance. Remember there is a fine line between constructive comments and negativity, and children all respond differently.
-No yelling, harrassing, or critizing Umpires!! ...They are not professionals, they are volunteers and parents as well. Please see a board member if you are interested in helping out as an umpire.
-Please be sure players have plenty of water for a game or practice.
-Please arrive on time to games/practices, inform your manager if you will be late or cannot attend.
-Please take issues to the Manager/Coach after games/practice and away from the team. Also feel free to contact the League Player Agent and/or the division VP.
-Please place the emotional and physical well being of all the kids ahead of your personal desire to win.
-Realize that your child is not in this program with the intent to become next year's draft pick.
-Little league should always be a fun experience where the joy of playing the game, learning the sport, and developing as an athlete and individual are the goals of each season for ALL age levels. Winning is not the primary goal of the team, OLL, or Little league as a whole.
-Oldsmar Little League reminds all parents that the league is run ENTIRELY by volunteers. A successful and positive experience for your child is directly related to the volunteers or lack of volunteers. Each team typically needs a manager, 2-3 coaches, a 'team mom', a scorekeeper, a pitch counter, and an umpire (for all home games). Considering that requires 8 people to staff a team, the league needs 75% of parents volunteering to make each childs experience a positive one. Please join in.
