Q: How do I make my Local League better for the Kids?
A: You can make a huge difference in your Local League and make it better for Everyone, by being a Volunteer. There are many roles that you can do as a Volunteer, Board Member, Umpire, Manager, Coach, Team Mom, Score Keeper, Concession Helper, member of a Commitee, if you can't do any of them, your League could always use help with phone calls or stuffing envelopes in search of returning players or Sponsors. Check with your Local League to see how you can make a difference in not only your childs life, but to a whole Leagues worth of children. "The Parents of millions of Little Leaguers combined with their children, league officails, umpires, managers, coaches, and countless volunteer agencies including sponsors, represent an imposing cross section of our world. Parents must take the initiative to make the local program successful. Little League is not a club in which membership implies babysitting benefits and entertainment privileges. Practically speaking, Little League is an adult work project constructed, supervised and assisted by parents who want to extend that benefit to their children. The Parent who shirks this resonsibilty cannot, in turn, expect others to assume the burden." (Official Regulations & Playing Rules of LLB)

Q: What are City Recreation Cards (Rec Cards) and why are they needed?
A: The City of Oldsmar is responsible for maintaining the fields at Canal Park. Players in Oldsmar Little League, as well as (independent from OLL) Soccer and Football are required to purchase Recreation Cards from the City. Our league boundaries include areas within the City limits, as well as some unincorporated areas of Pinellas County. The Recreational Reimbursement Program is one way the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners is providing more active recreational opportunities for residents of unincorporated Pinellas County. Under this new service, Pinellas County will reimburse residents of unincorporated Pinellas County for any non-resident differential fees they must pay to join any city-sponsored recreational program.
